What to Know

Stem is making a change to how we recognize revenue, make payments, and populate the data in your dashboard, ****which will impact your Spotify accounting over the next several months. After we complete this change, we will be in a better position to make new improvements to our dashboard and build brand-new products like Royalty Processing.

Changes to Dashboard Data

As we update our reporting, your Spotify earnings data may change over time. Each month, our system may adjust the previous month’s earnings data. This will occur during a four-month period from the February 15 payment to the May 15 payment. Starting in June your data and payments will be aligned going forward.

The three places where you might see these changes are on the Financial Dashboard, the Release/Track Page, and your downloadable statement file.

While you will continue receiving royalties from this period, due to the adjustment they may be less than you would otherwise expect. By June, your payments for this period will catch up to your earnings for the entire transition period. After this work is complete, your Payments page and earnings will accurately reflect your Spotify streaming numbers.

Impact to Stem Products

Recoup

For the months of January to April, it will take your payees longer to recoup than it would during a standard month. After April, recoupment will return to the standard pace.

Scale

Our Scale team is aware that this process may cause some fluctuations in your reported earnings from January to April. If you apply for a Scale advance in the future, fluctuations caused by this realignment will not negatively impact your application.
